Tough question. There are so many reasons to read. Do you want to laugh out loud? Read P.G. Wodehouse. Do you want to go to the stars, and back, and beyond, and between? Read “The Self-Aware Universe” by Amit Goswami. Do you need to heal? Read “Minding the Body, Mending the Mind” by Joan Borysenko. Do you want to be Awakened? Read “Autobiography of Yogi” by Paramahansa Yogananda.
Who has time to read?
Anyone who puts the welfare of others before their own — in small ways and big — is a protector. The often unsung heroes of our times are those who serve others without the thought of reward or recognition. They might be firemen, nurses, teachers, spiritual guides, mothers, friends, philanthropists, activists, scientists or businessmen. You become a protector when you know that helping others is more important than being helped, or getting ahead, or becoming wealthy.
